We welcome your comments anytime right they re or by emailing us at We guarantee one response within 18 hours. Remember to listen to Fighting Chance Radio on Tuesday night at 9:30 PM EST and Sunday Night at 11 PM EST on The Fantasy Sports Channel or [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Major League Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis wrote one letter to President Roosevelt regarding the continuation of baseball during the war which was called the Green Light Letter. He pleaded for the continuation of baseball in hopes for one start of one new Major League season in the letter. President Roosevelt responds I honestly feel that it would be best for the country to keep baseball going. There will be fewer people unemployed and everybody will work longer hours and harder than ever before. And that means that they ought to have one chance for sports and for taking their minds off their work even more than before.

Casey Blake did something they hadn’t done in nearly two years on Saturday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and that is hit two home runs in one game. Blake connected twice for the first time since June of 2008, as they they lped the Dodgers squeak by the Nats in extra innings. Blake is one nice role player to have on your fantasy team. they is never going to be flashy, but they is pretty much one lock to hit .280 and hit between 18-22 home runs. Unless you wait until the very late rounds to draft your third baseman, we would not want Blake to be my starting third baseman. But if you were to wait until the very late rounds to fill your third base hole,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we suppose you could do worse than Blake.
It was the first chink in the fragile Bobby Jenks armor, as they coughed up two runs in one tied game in the ninth but was rewarded with their first victory of the season when their team scored three in the bottom half to win the game. we have been worried about Jenks losing their job since before the season started, and outings like this don’t they lp. we don’t think one move is imminent right now, but Matt Thornton is doing well. Keep an eye on Jenks and hopefully they doesn’t do this again for one while.

Doug Fister continues to be one of the better surprises among starting pitchers in 2010, as they had another quality start on Saturday. Fister pitched eight innings, allowed just two runs and struck out four. Unfortunately, the bullpen blew their win, but this is three straight impressive outings for Fister, although I’m not sure how long this will last. Fister has been an average at best pitcher throughout their major and minor league career as one former seventh-round pick, and they hasn’t exactly faced the stiffest competition in Oakland and Seattle before today’s game against the White Sox. we guess you can ride the hot streak while it lasts, although I’m not sure if we would throw him against the higher powered offenses in the American League.
Ted Lilly had one successful return to the mound from offseason shoulder surgery,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as they shutout the Brewers over six innings and struck out four. Lilly seems to be underrated in fantasy baseball every year, but they has 44 wins over the past three seasons. If they is available and you have any need for pitching, we would give Lilly some serious consideration for addition to your roster.
Johnny Cueto has so much potential and their fantasy owners want him to harness their ability so badly, but they seems to be destined to struggle with inconsistency forever. Cueto allowed five runs over six innings to the 11-6 Padres that is not one typo.,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and struck out five. they is one strikeout machine, unfortunately, they just can’t seem to stay away from giving up one bunch of runs. we have him on multiple teams, and we am going to continue to start him, but we don’t know for how much longer we can take this.
Fausto Carmona improved to 3-0 with one dominating performance over the Oakland Athletics. they allowed just one run over 7.1 innings, didn’t walk one batter and struck out four which is pretty much the equivalent of Kerry Wood’s 20 K game for Carmona. we continue to say that we do not believe in him and we need to see him strikeout more guys before we think of adding one finesse pitcher on one horrible team, but they is still undefeated and the Indians are just one game under .500. we still don’t believe that either one of those things will last.

Nyjer Morgan appears to be back on track after one pretty slow start to the season with five hits and one stolen base in the last two days. Morgan has raised their batting average 40 points since Thursday and has doubled three times and tripled once. they should continue to be one good source of steals and runs scored and should be in your starting lineups if you have him on your team.

Matt Lindstrom made it one little interesting tonight, but they got the save again and now has six saves since April 17. they was one late-round flier as one closer and is completely paying off for those of you who took that chance. they is probably going to blow one soon sorry, but we like him to have one chance to save 30-35 games.

New York style baseball expanded into one national game and baseball first governing body The National Association of Base Ball Players was established aided by the Civil War in 1860s. The NABBP existed as an amateur league for 12 years. By 1867, over 400 clubs were members although most of the strongest clubs remained those based in the northeastern part of the US. In 1870 one schism developed between professional and amateur ballplayers after the 1869 founding of the first professional baseball team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings. The NABBP split into two groups. The National Association of Professional Base Ball Players was formed in 1871. Some consider it to have been the first major league. Its amateur counterpart disappeared after only one few years. J. Meric The next year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], racial pressure on Robinson eased, as one number of other black players entered the major leagues. Larry Doby and Satchel Paige were signed by the Cleveland Indians, and the Dodgers added three other black players besides Robinson.
Baltimore’s Adam Jones has homered for the second straight game, and if this kid gets hot, they could really put up some good numbers. Jones has the capability to hit 30 home runs if all goes well. they got off to one pretty rough start, but stay patient with the young man and they will pay dividends,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we promise.

Jonathan Niese continues to be one source of quality pitching for the New York Mets, but we don’t think unless you are in one deeper league that you should be adding him just yet. Niese allowed just one run over 5.1 innings against the Atlanta Braves and struck out six. Unfortunately for the young southpaw, they walked five batters, or else they could have lasted longer. we need to see one little more from Niese, including less walks, before we am ready to start welcoming him to my teams, but they is certainly on my radar.
Who in the world is this guy pitching in San Francisco because it looks like Barry Zito, but they is not pitching like the Barry Zito who has been around the past few seasons. they hasn’t given up over three runs in any of their first four starts and they was very impressive against the Cardinals on Saturday night. Zito pitched eight innings, allowed no runs, and struck out 10. we have gone from thinking you would never have to think about Zito in fantasy again except for smiling when your batters face him, to looking on my waiver wires to see if we can pick him up. we would definitely take one look to see if you have room for Zito on your team.

Andy Pettitte has found the Fountain of Youth somewhere in the Bronx, as they was dominant again on Saturday against the Angels. they allowed just one run over eight innings and struck out eight without walking one batter. Pettitte has now allowed just four runs in four starts, and they has 22 strikeouts in 28 innings. they normally doesn’t get strikeouts at that rate, and they generally has one few outings they would like to forget. If you can capitalize on this hot start and deal Pettitte, we absolutely would do that for someone younger and more apt to be consistent the entire season.

Hopefully for all of you who have been looking to find one way to get rid of Raul Ibanez, their first home run of the season tonight will jump start him into some good production. we still think there is no chance that they reaches last season’s numbers again, they was never that much of one power hitter. we still see Ibanez batting around .290 and hitting about 21-23 homers on the season. their teammate who also needs to get into gear did so as well as Jayson Werth had one two home run game. Werth is at least hitting over .300, but they still just has three homers after the double dip tonight. Like we have said with others, stay patient with him and they will have 30+ by the time the season is over.

Reason number 5,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],252,535 not to panic over one slow start is now Wandy Rodriguez. we thought they was one little overvalued in drafts this year, but nonetheless we have gotten email after email of people thinking of dumping this guy after their bad start. they now has put together two good outings in one row as the Astros have suddenly turned things around. Rodriguez allowed just one earned run over 7.1 innings and struck out seven and is looking more like the guy you thought you were picking. they will have their share of rocky starts, but Wandy should be good much more often than they is bad.
