Theresultsshowedthatthenumberofmitochondriaperunitareaofparietalcells,herve leger skirts, zymogengranulesinprincipalcells, secretorygranulesinG-cellsandfast-postprandialgastrinratioinspleen - energydeficiencygroupwereallsignificantlylowerthanthatinliver - spleenincoordi - nationgroup (P <0.01). Itsuggetsthatpatientswithspleen-energydeficiencyhaveinsuffi-cientpepsinreserveaswellasbothpoorsecretorydepositandlowsecretoryfunctoninG-cells. Also, therewasobviousmitochondriastructureinjury, itsuggeststhatthequalityandquantitychangesofmitochondriamaybethekeylinkofpathologicalchangesofspleen-ener - gYdeficiencysymptomcomplex. Besides. inspleen-energydeficiencygroupthegastricmu-cosaMDAcontentwashigher (P <0.05) buttheSODactivitywaslower (P <0.05) thanthatintheliver-spleenincoordinationgroupandnormalcontrolgroup, allofthesesuggestthatoxigenfreeradicalsmayparticipateinthepathogenesisofspleen-energydeficiencysymptomcomplex.
